Father-in-Laws Birthday Card

Morning all

Its my Father in laws birthday in a few days, so I have had to make this card in advance as he will be in Egypt for his birthday.

Why is it I always have trouble deciding on what to do for a man's card.  I do find though that the LOTV Mens/Boys collection of stamps are perfect for most occasions  that I need to make cards for.

The image I have used is called "Pride and Joy" and can be purchased here.  I have coloured it with promarkers and added a little sparkle with my clear sakura glitter pen.

My sentiment is from one of the See D's collection of stamps and is perfect for both Male and Female cards.

I have also used chocolate card candy for a little extra decoration, which I think just finishes the card off.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and for any comments you may like to leave.

Bah....Humbug Challenge 1 Holly and/or Fairies

Evening all

Well I thought this challenge ended Noon tomorrow not noon today.  Oh well definitely missed this weeks challenge but I thought I would show you my card anyway.

I chose a Lili of the Valley angel to make this card with because of the Holly wreath on her head and to be honest I don't think I have used this image before but I will definitely be using her again.  The papers I have used are from Craftwork cards and are from the Merry & Bright pack.

She has been coloured in with promarkers and been stamped using memento ink.

The greeting is a stamp from Cuddly Buddly and there are 4 fab little stamps included in the pack.  Once again it has been stamped using Memento ink and coloured in with promarkers.

Finally I have used Card candy from Craftwork cards to finish the decorations for this card.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving any comments.

Sketch Saturday - Week #137 - 8th January & Magnolia anything goes.

Evening All

When I was surfing through blog land looking for some inspiration I came across the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog and loved the sketches I saw so I thought I would give it a go.

I love these little Tilda stamps amongst a few other collections, they are so easy to colour and use.

The corner is one of the Marianne corner dies that have just come out and the white circles are craftwork cards card candy.

My Tilda image has been stamped with memento and coloured in with promarkers.  Unfortunately I cannot give you the colours I used as I coloured her in a good few months ago.

The paper I have used is a free one from Creative Cardmaking for January and the other card is out of my scrap box.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Blog and for any comments you may like to leave.

Challenge 50 - Marlene's Sketch (The Sugar Bowl)

Hello Everyone

I must say before I do anything else, Happy 2nd Birthday to The Sugar Bowl.  Thank  you for 2 wonderful years of challenges.

Here is my take on this weeks sketch: -

As I seem to have a thing about making christmas cards at the moment, I have deliberately chosen to use pink so that it makes me do a Birthday card and I am back to making one of my favourite style of cards an easel card.

Here is a close up of the top part of my card so that you can see that I have followed the sketch, all I have done is rotated the sketch to fit in with the image I have used.  The papers are the free ones that were in this months Creative Cardmaking magazine.

The Image I have used is called Fragile Beauty and can be found at www.funkykits.co.uk when it is back in stock.  I have coloured her in with promarkers which give her a printed look.

My greeting has been hand stamped using one of the many unmounted stamps I have.

Here is a different angle of the card.  The card itself measures 14.5 cm square and is made for 270g card.

LOTV - Challenge 79 - Sketch by Lena

Good Evening Everyone,

Well this weeks challenge from LOTV was a sketch to follow and I enjoyed doing it so much that I have made 2 cards using it.  I must admit though that they are both Christmas cards as I cannot seem to stop myself from making them at the moment.  I am sure this will soon pass!

Here are the cards I came up with: -

Card One

I must admit I do quite like making Black & White Christmas cards as they look quite classy even if I do say so myself.

The LOTV image I have used is "Igloo for Two" and can be found here.  It has been coloured in with my promarkers and I have used Rymans 200g card which is lovely to use.

I have used DCWV papers on the card some glittered and some not but I do think they work quite well with this layout.  The punch is one of the new Martha Stewart snowflake border punches and it is fabulous to use as I have used it on 270g card.

The black corners have been added with the off cuts from the base card.  I did want some fancy corners but they were a little to big as I only just remembered that this card needed 2 corner embellishments.

I tried to make this card as flat as possible to save on postage (that is if anyone wants to buy this one), mind you it still weighs a fair bit with all the layers.

Card Two

Instead of making another black & White card I went for more rich and vibrant colours which I think works quite well with this image.

This image is called "Sledging with Daddy" and can be found here if anyone would like to purchase it.  Once again I have coloured it in with promarkers and as you can see it hardly needs any colouring in.

I have matted the main image onto mirror card and the papers once again are from DCWV from a paper pack I have had for a few years..

The corner is one of the New Marianne corners and works quite well with these colours.

Tilda Challenge Card

Evening All.

This is my attempt at the Tilda Challenge over on Docrafts, all we had to do was make a card using any new stash we had for Christmas.

For the main shape of the card I used my Marianne frame die, which makes a lovely base for a card and the large circle nesties fir perfectly within the inner circle.

I have used the Flying angel magnolia stamp which has been coloured in with promarkers and the wings have been coloured in using my Sakura clear sparkle gelly roll pen.

The green glittery snowflakes were cut using one of the Marianne poinsetta dies and these are the stamens for the centre of the flower.

First Christmas card of 2011

Hello everyone,

Well one of my new years resolutions is to make at least one Christmas card each week so I don't get to bogged down in December and here is my first one.

I have also put this on Do-crafts and entered it into Loretta's Monday Challenge No. 108 and it is also for Snoflakes Christmas Challenge for WK1 (Hopefully this challenge will start soon as I think a couple of us have already uploaded cards in preparation for this challenge)

The image is one of LOTV Christmas stamps and it is so cute, I just love this little bear.  He has been coloured in with promarkers and glittered using stickles.

Snowflakes and Poinsettia have been cut using Marianne Dies and glitter card.

Many thanks for visiting my blog and for any comments you may like to leave.

Vicky's Christening Card

Hi All

We had our Daughter Vicky (Aged 5) Christened on the 19th December and she ordered a ballerina christening card off me so this is what I came up with.

The base card is a silver glitter card as it had to be a sparkly card as Vicky loves all thinks sparkly.

The little ballerinas are from stamposaurus and is one stamp.  It has been coloured in with my promarkers and the wings have been glittered with a sakura glitter pen.

Computer generated Greeting that was added to the card.

Flat back heart gems from my stash to finish off the card.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you may like to leave.

My Mom was 65 on the 14th of December and this is the card I made.

Lots of Yellows and greens in this one.  Most of the card is made from the packs that you get from Lidl (25 different colour sheets for £1.99 and 270gsm at that)

Image is a Penny black slapstick stamp which has been coloured in with my promarkers.

Numbers have been cut using my Cricut (worth every penny if you want to invest in one)

Sparkly gems from my stash.

Tilda Birthday Card

Evening all,

Here is a birthday card that I made for one of my daughter's friends.

The image is Tilda Ballerina which has been stamped with memento and coloured in with my promarkers.  I have also embossed the whole image with WOW glitter embossing powder to give it that little sparkle.

The number 5 has been cut using my Cricut and the ribbon is from my stash.

It is such a shame that the embossing powder does not show up very well as it is just stunning.

The greeting is computer generated and cut out using some of my nestabilities.

Thank you for looking and for any comments you may like to leave.
